Activate your soul gifts with Ra, Ancient Egyptian god of the sun

Who is Ra?

Ra was the god of heaven, the sun and the origin of life in Egyptian mythology. Devotion to Ra was central to Ancient Egyptian religion and many solar temples were built in his honour.

Throughout the Dynastic Periods he took many other blended forms such as Ra-Horakhty and Amun-Ra. He was depicted with a falcon’s head crowned with a sun disk encircled by a sacred cobra.

Who is Ra?

Ra was a High Priest in the ancient spiritual civilisation of Atlantis where sacred knowledge about the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx were seeded.  He watches over those who are now rediscovering their Atlantean soul gifts, such as crystal healing, psychic arts and divine masculine leadership.

What are his key themes and lessons?

Ra helps us to share our deepest soul gifts with humanity and Earth. Our soul gifts are made up of unique passions, ideas and abilities that highly serve others. They are an expression of our infinite spiritual essence, our healing energy, and what our hearts long to give.

We may need to move through old fears and resistance as we share our deepest gifts. This is because our highest ‘calling’ is linked to our own inner healing. As much as we long to give our authentic energy to the world, we must also heal our own soul wounds as we do so. It’s natural to have blocks and hesitation come up around sharing our most powerful love and gifts with others.

Get in touch with your true light

It’s a demonstration of spiritual power, and there can be many reasons why we’re hesitant to get in touch with that potent divine force. We may worry what other people would think of us if we started radiating our true light.

Will stepping up into sharing our gifts disturb the balance of our relationships? Will it put others into the shade? Will other people stop liking or approving of us? Do we deserve to give our deepest gifts? Could we really dare to shine that brightly?

Take a moment to reflect on these questions. Without overthinking it, notice how your body and emotions respond. These are clues to why you might be holding back from sharing your unique gifts in the way you long to do.

Heal the ‘delay tactics’ of the ego

Ra teaches us that our ego may want to convince us that it’s a mistake to share our light. The ego can show up as a harsh, critical, or negative inner voice which puts us down. It can also manifest as putting things off, making excuses and generally delaying doing what we know, deep down, we need to do to serve our spiritual function.

“Procrastination is a smokescreen for your fears,” says Ra. “Yes, it can feel scary to reveal your ideas and talents, but this is what we need from you. Sharing your deepest gift will open the heart of humanity. Don’t wait any more, or you’ll be waiting your whole life. Take guided action now, not later.”

Connect with your solar plexus chakra

Through working on the solar plexus chakra (spiritual energy centre coloured yellow and located just below the ribcage), Ra helps us to heal procrastination and take divinely guided, positive action. He heals anything that’s preventing us from sharing our radiant sun’s light with the world.

How can Ra help you?

If you feel cautious about ‘showing up’ to share your energy, ideas and talents, Ra can give you all the warm encouragement and spiritual direction you need.

Through deeply activating your solar plexus chakra, Ra unlocks your inner sun’s light.  He helps you dissolve any fears that are holding you back so you can start actively contributing your unique energy.

Ra is a master at working with our ‘inner critic’ or ego-mind that may try to convince us that we’re not good enough, we can’t make a positive difference, or that we’re not worthy of giving our gifts. This can cause us to keep stalling our soul’s highest purpose.

Ra encourages you to start sharing your gifts even when you don’t feel completely ‘ready’. He asks you to stop waiting for the elusive ‘perfect time’ and offer your light now, not later.

Ra’s Solar Plexus activation

In this meditation, Ra activates your solar plexus chakra to light up your inner gifts.

  1. Sit comfortably and take a few deep breaths to centre yourself.
  2. Imagine that Ra, divine masculine teacher and high priest, is standing before you.
  3. Bring your awareness to your solar plexus chakra, located at the midpoint between your ribcage and navel. Its colour is bright yellow.
  4. Feel Ra’s powerful energy as he directs waves of light into your solar plexus, lighting up your inner gifts.
  5. Ra activates all your sacred knowledge, creative ideas and natural healing abilities.
  6. He declares that they’re ready to be shared for the highest good.
  7. As you continue to connect with Ra’s light, open to receive new guidance on how to show up and share your soul gifts. This guidance may drop into your mind or awareness now, or later.
  8. When you’re complete, give thanks to Ra, take some grounding breaths, and come back into the room.
